Haiti

On January 12, 2010 a devastating earthquake struck Haiti, killing an estimated 250,000 people and leaving some two million people displaced from their homes. Over 1.6 million of them remain in overcrowded displacement camps, with no access to food or water and torn tents, tarps and cardboard as their shelter. The UN has estimated that only 2 percent of the rubble has been removed and only 15 percent of the aid pledged by countries and organizations around the world has reached the country so far.
